Although I've installed several MediaWiki instances over the past half-decade or so, I'm brand new as an active Sysop. Therefore if you can provide links to tutorials showing how to fulfill your other suggestions, that might save me a bit of time.

RE: "Pretty URLS" -- I very much want to get this done ASAP, if for no other reason in order to avoid the ugly URLS spending more time getting spidered, propagated, etc... Going through the manuals it looks like I should have installed our wiki in a subdirectory. (I know you like it in root, but there's such a vehement advisory against doing so...)

Proposal -- I could move everything into a sub called pdx or something, then write the .htaccess file. Comments? Suggestions? (From all, of course.)

By the way...

Sorry about replying here instead of your individual user pages. (Long day, and I need to fix supper.) If there's a clever way to do both at once (which I'm sure there is), I'll try and get that figured out soon...
