OBHI
From PdxWikiWednesday
The Oregon Better Health Initiative is something that Chuck K. is working on. He's coming to OHC Wiki Wednesday. I don't understand the initiative very well yet and I hope Chuck will write a bit about it here. I know they have a resolution (built by physicians ?) that they are asking organizations to support. Here is the current document:
[edit] Guiding Principles for Healthcare Reform
For healthcare reform to succeed, there must be a clearly articulated and agreed upon set of shared principles that give guidance to reform efforts. These principles should provide a compass for healthcare decision-makers and practitioners alike in guiding both their overall planning and daily activities.
- The objective of our health system is to deliver health as measured at the individual, family, and community levels.
- Individual and community health are public assets. Universal access to basic health services is essential to the well-being of our workforce and our communities.
- Public resources should be allocated in a way that maximizes health across the population.
- Decision-making about the expenditure of public resources should be evidence-based and transparent.
- Health services should be organized to d to provide comprehensive, coordinated, longitudinal mental and physical health care.
More soon I hope! --Shelley Schoepflin Sanders 00:14, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
